About K2 Salon & Spa
K2 Salon was founded in 2007 by Ken and May, built on a passion for hair artistry and exceptional client care. Ken brings decades of experience from top salons across the Bay Area and Los Angeles, with advanced training from Vidal Sassoon Academy and Paul Mitchell Schools.
Today, K2 Salon is run by Ken and his son, Nick — blending classic hairstyling with modern barbering. Nick began cutting hair under his father's guidance at just 15 years old and has worked throughout the Bay Area at respected shops including People's Barber and The Shop - Berkeley. After studying economics and computer science at the University of California, Berkeley and spending five years in tech, he returned to help grow the family business and continue its legacy.
Located in downtown Oakland near Lake Merritt, K2 Salon has become a trusted destination for craftsmanship, self-care, and community.

I stopped by this salon for the first time and I had a great experience! Ken understood exactly what I was asking for and I loved my haircut. There's also a parking lot right outside the salon which makes it easy to find a parking spot.
First time here and had an appointment with Ken at 10:00AM right when business is open. Ken did an amazing job with my cut! I showed him a picture of how I wanted it and asked for a low fade which he did flawlessly.

What are your hours?
We're open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We're closed Sunday and Monday.
What services do you offer?
We offer barbering services — men's haircuts, fades, and beard trims — along with women's haircuts, long hair cutting and styling, color, highlights, and perms, including Korean-style perms. We no longer offer Brazilian or keratin straightening treatments.
Do you specialize in Asian hair?
Yes — Asian hair is one of our specialties. Ken and Nick have decades of combined experience cutting Asian hair, from textured perms to skin fades and classic men's cuts. All hair types are welcome.
